2)μ and supersymmetry: status and prospects
نویسنده
چکیده
The experimental determination of the muon magnetic moment and its theoretical prediction within the Standard Model and the MSSM are reviewed. A 3σ deviation between experiment and Standard Model prediction has been established, and supersymmetry could provide a natural explation of this deviation. Possible future improvements and the case for a new experiment are discussed. PACS. 13.40.Em Electric and magnetic moments – 14.60.Ef Muons – 12.60.Jv Supersymmetric models

Electroweak Precision Data and Gravitino Dark Matter
Electroweak precision measurements can provide indirect information about the possible scale of supersymmetry already at the present level of accuracy. We review present day sensitivities of precision data in mSUGRA-type models with the gravitino as the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP). Theχ fit is based onMW , sin 2 θeff , (g−2)μ, BR(b → sγ) and the lightest MSSM Higgs boson mass, Mh. We...
متن کاملProspects of Discovery for Supersymmetry at the Tevatron
We summarize a discovery potential for supersymmetric particles at the pp collider of Tevatron with center-of-mass energy √ s = 2 TeV and integrated luminosity ∫ L dt = 15-30 fb. Any direct search is kinematically limited to below 450 GeV/c2. We, however, have a unique opportunity to test various supersymmetric scenarios by a measurement of the branching ratio for the rare decay mode Bs → μ+μ−....
متن کاملIndirect Sensitivities to the Scale of Supersymmetry
Precision measurements, now and at a future linear electron-positron collider (ILC), can provide indirect information about the possible scale of supersymmetry. We illustrate the present-day and possible future ILC sensitivities within the constrained minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (CMSSM), in which there are three independent soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters m1/2,...
متن کاملPhenomenological Indications of the Scale of Supersymmetry
Electroweak precision measurements can provide indirect information about the possible scale of supersymmetry already at the present level of accuracy. We update the present-day sensitivities of precision data using mt = 172.7 ± 2.9 GeV for the experimental value of the top-quark mass, within the constrained minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (CMSSM), in which there are thre...
متن کاملLepton-Photon Symposium DECLINE AND FALL OF THE STANDARD MODEL?
Motivations for physics beyond the Standard Model are reviewed, with particular emphasis on supersymmetry at the TeV scale. Constraints on the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model with universal soft supersymmetry-breaking terms (CMSSM) are discussed. These are also combined with the supersymmetric interpretation of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. The prospects for ...
